To automate or NOT to automate. THAT is the question.
I get it, automating things isn’t everyones cup of tea. But once you start easing into letting automations work to your advantage, that’s when you start seeing results.
Here are 3 common questions I get asked about behind-the-scenes tech & automations:
1️⃣ Why does having automations matter?
It matters because it takes your organization to level 100.
It matters because barriers to your end result can be reduced or eliminated.
It matters because it helps you get another step closer to taking your hands off the things that take up all your time, and on the things that matter to you.
But, believe it or not, a lot of people would prefer to not have anything automated. And, while I get that in come cases, the majority of the time it’s SUPER helpful. Especially if you have a team, multiple initiatives & projects, and have nailed down how your business is operating behind-the-scenes.
❗️ Just don’t set it and forget it. Just like any standard operating procedure, task or to-do, automations need to be updated and monitored occasionally to ensure things are running smoothly.❗️ (If you’re stuck here and are needing help cleaning up your automations – book a call with me here to chat about a systems audit where we can take your behind-the-scenes from cobwebs to clarity!)
2️⃣ How does it not get confusing?
It does. Lol. While those of us working behind-the-scenes in the nitty gritty of your operations typically understand how things operate, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything new to learn or something that is confusing. Different entrepreneurs have different terms and approaches and it’s our job to translate that into a seamless flow.
3️⃣ How do you know where to start?
Most times, you don’t. The first step is reverse engineering from your ideal end result. You have to determine how you got there and then decide what steps you can condense to make things simple.
Let your systems work in your favor. A lot of automation platforms have tutorials and help guide you through simple steps that seem like they would be complex.
Automate or not, your business is your business. However you work best is how you should continue to work. But don’t close the door completely to automation. It might save you one day!
Disclaimer: You don’t need to automate EVERYTHING. Don’t get caught up in the excitement of automations. They are here to help, not to completely run your business for you. Because if you aren’t monitoring them, updating them and re-assessing them during an audit, you could be missing steps, having rules miss-fire and be causing more trouble in your behind-the-scenes that you might not realize.
